Bogart - Nik Kershaw - Human Racing (Vinyl, LP, Album)

Sincerely hope Nik is considering doing the same with The Riddle very soon! You are commenting using your WordPress. You are commenting using your Google account. You are commenting using your Twitter account. You are commenting using your Facebook account.

Kershaw's second album was The Riddle. The title-track , released in November , proved to be his third international hit single , reaching No.

He described the experience as "absolutely terrifying". He continued to record and release records and collaborated with others on a number of projects. A cover of "Wouldn't it be Good" by the Danny Hutton Hitters appeared on the soundtrack of the teen romantic comedy-drama Pretty in Pink.

Later that same year, Kershaw's third solo album, Radio Musicola , was released to critical acclaim but to little commercial success. Kershaw's prowess as a songwriter served him well in , when his song " The One and Only " appeared on the soundtrack to the British film Buddy's Song , and in the American movie Doc Hollywood.

During , he worked with Tony Banks , the keyboard player of Genesis , on Banks' third solo album Still. Kershaw co-wrote two songs with Banks, providing lead vocals on both. During the mids he also wrote and produced material for the boy band Let Loose , with two of the tracks "Seventeen" and "Everybody Say Everybody Do" achieving reasonable success. Following this year, Kershaw appeared on Elton John's 'Duets' album, where Kershaw not only wrote the song but produced, and played all the instruments on the track.

The year saw the release of the album 15 Minutes. The follow-up album, To Be Frank , was released in In , Kershaw released Then And Now , a collection of earlier material with four new tracks. This album contained twelve tracks and was released on the musician's own label, Shorthouse Records. Kershaw wrote songs and performed for the soundtrack of the film, Round Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks.

He also appeared as an extra in the penultimate scene, presenting a copy of the book to Hawks for signing in the book shop. Following the release of his eighth studio album in Ei8ht , his first release to reach the UK Top since , Kershaw undertook a small tour of the UK, with some European dates.

As part of each show he played the entirety of his debut album, which had been re-mastered and re-released in March Kershaw performed a solo acoustic set at Fairport's Cropredy Convention in August He was on tour in the UK and Ireland in Autumn In the latter part of he performed a date tour of the UK, on a double bill with Go West , supported by Carol Decker.

Two more singles Wide Boy, and album highlight Don Quixote , followed it into the top ten. This new expanded two-CD set delivers a great sounding version of the album and provides a bonus disc of inch remixes, a couple of B-sides and mostly unheard live material.

A few of the Human Racing singles had two inch remixes when originally issued, but when it came to the 45s from The Riddle , one remix-per-single was your lot. Only Don Quixote is a really great reworking running to 8. You can read his comments around this here. Nik has re-recorded a few new vocals for the previously unreleased Live from Hammersmith Odeon tracks, but left off the track Progress , which was an official B-side, and from the same Hammersmith gig.

So, all in all, I think both albums are very complementary, each one having its own qualities and defaults. Ive always believed when an artist releases new material is should be theirs any success after that is down to the music buying public , so when it comes to reissues like this consideration to the fans and in these cases vinyl buying public should be taken into account.

The artist may complain that they are crap or shoved as a b-side by some AR man but we still listened to them. Anything less is an insult to the music buying public. Some live tracks re-recorded some not.

Dear oh dear. The Bananarama discs blow this away at the exact same price! I also prefer The Riddle as an album to Human Racing. Considering how rushed it appears to have been I think it is very cohesive. Human Racing does sound like a batch of songs written to get a deal, for better and sometimes worse. The Riddle has a warmer feel, and like others above I enjoy most of the non-singles as well Roses is fantastic, Wild Horses and City of Angels not far behind…Save The Whale is stunning, etc etc!

I decided not to buy this reissue, because of the misgivings about sound quality and tape deterioration. If you only concern is sound quality I can tell you apart from my concern of Progress missing this album benefits from the current remastering and sounds fantastic. Agree with Paul.

Lead-In - No Artist - Traktor Scratch Control Disc (CD)

Once you have laid your beatgrid and you feel you have it in the right place in relation to the tick metronome you can use zoom to examine a particular gridline to see how well your grid marker lines up with the waveform.

I have provided a video tutorial which covers this in a little more detail. By simply clicking on the artist or track name, you are able to rename fields nice and quickly on the fly instead of having to right click the track to open the edit window. This is great, however it can sometimes lead to the accidental renaming or changing of something you did not want to change, in the heat of a performance. This is one way to do this.

With the introduction of Traktor 2. Normally in internal mixer mode, all channels are routed to one output, the second output being used for headphones cueing. This new-found flexibility can prove very helpful if you are either limited on mixer channels or indeed audio card size but still want something more than fully internal routing, but of course certain considerations are needed when doing this in conjunction with an external mixer.

This helps to reduce your shipping cost. This is not a boot limited, OEM, shareware, bootleg or trial version. No copyright or trademark laws have been infringed.

Aug 3, Jun 29, Having the Load next at end of track option on will load the next track in the selected playlist into a deck when the track before it has finished playing.

A Load Marker is a special cue point that when you load a track that has a Load marker in it, the track will Load right to that cue point. These markers will mark when the next track will start playing and the current track will start to fade out, allowing for automatic crossfades. This option is good if you want to use Traktor in cruise mode which will put Traktor in autopilot mode allowing for playback and even syncing of your tracks for hours on end without having to be at the computer.

The Cruise Loops Playlist option is also for cruise mode, and will restart a playlist at the beginning once its finished playing the last track in the playlist. Reset all mixer controls when loading track will reset mixer controls like the EQ and Filter when you load a new track.

In order to pick a good tempo range, you would want to think about the speed or BPM range you want to play at during any given set. Pushing them is like nudging the metal edge of a turntable, or the outer edge of a CD player. It will give the track a push or pull forwards or backwards.

The tempo bend sensitivity adjust will adjust how sensitive these buttons are when you press them. Now lets talk about Sync Mode. The Sync mode that you use determines how the sync button will behave when you press it. Tempo sync will sync the BPM of the deck to whatever deck is the master and it will also temporarily sync the phase of the deck which will move the phase meter to the zero position.

In the Key Lock section you can choose what kind of Key Lock mode you want to use. Key lock is the little yellow musical note inside of Traktor. The type of key lock you should use depends on if your using scratch control or not, and how powerful of a computer you have. If you have a slower processor you will want to use Eco Mode.

If you have a fast processor you can use HiQ mode. If you are not using timecode control or jog wheels you will want to use Normal Mode. The Loops — Auto detect size option will determine the length of time that a track is considered a loop.

I have mine set to 48 seconds, so any track that is under 30 seconds is automatically considered a loop, and if I load it into a deck, the loop will be turned on automatically.

Minimum Play Time adjusts the time you need to play a track before it is marked as played. If a track is marked as played it will be added to the history section for this session and will be marked with a check mark, and it will also show up in the Archive for the session, and its play count will be raised. Now lets talk about the Beat Counter. I have mine set to 8 bars since most dance music is made in 8 bar phrases.

The Mouse Control section describes the behavior of the decks when you click and drag directly on the waveform view in a deck. These are the different mouse control modes: In Vinyl Mode, Clicking the waveform will stop the track. Holding the mouse and dragging it back and forth works like scratching or spinning a record.

In Snap Mode, the Mouse arrow will always snap to the nearest beat or transient in the track, marked by white lines on the waveform. If you click and hold on the beat, it will play as long as the mouse button is held down. If you right click on the beat, the deck will play starting where you clicked.

Final Destination - Doc Link - Final Destination (File, MP3)

Find, download, and install iOS apps safely from the App Store. Publisher's Description. Full Specifications. Continuing with the previous example, the location of his clients determines Jim's final travel destination. If he has a meeting with a customer in the San Francisco Bay area, the nearest airport will likely be his final destination.

His other needs are destination arrival time, ticket price, and total travel time to his final destination. Taking his needs into consideration, the airline uses its route plan and schedules to suggest a travel plan for Jim. The airline determines the most optimum travel plan based on his needs and may decide to route him through a hub airport such as Atlanta.

Advanced Task Framework helps select the most suitable routing for inbound material from the receiving area to the final location in the warehouse. This routing is known as the operation plan. Similar to the airline analogy, multiple operation plans may exist in a warehouse to move the material to a destination location. However you may configure operation plan selection rules to model constraints and business requirements so the system selects the most suitable operation plan for inbound material execution.

Why does Jim take a connecting flight? There are only a few direct fights between Miami and San Francisco, and the ticket prices on these flight are expensive. The routing through a hub airport allows the airline to improve asset utilization and offer cheaper and more frequent fights than a point-to-point flight routing. Routing through a hub airport allows an airline to consolidate passengers flying to multiple nationwide destinations into a single flight to a hub airport.

The passengers on this flight are then deconsolidated and routed to flights going to multiple nation wide destinations. In a warehouse the same principles apply. You can use consolidation and deconsolidation at intermediate drop off points to make material movement more efficient in you warehouse. Advanced task framework allows you to group material with similar attributes.

Material grouping allows you to consolidate or deconsolidate items for execution. Advanced task framework allows you to consolidate material based on similar attributes in a location or LPN. Material grouping allows you to optimize warehouse resources so you can perform a particular warehouse operation on a group of items instead of the same operation multiple times on individual items.

An example of grouping is receiving the same item against multiple purchase orders. Assume the items are identical and are bound for the same final storage location. This LPN can be putaway in a single movement rather than multiple moves to the same storage location for the same item. You can also use material grouping to separate items from a mixed LPN.

Jim's travel arrangements often depend on the outcome of a particular meeting. In such cases, he cannot determine the final destination with certainty. For example, Jim performs a product demo to the end users at a plant in Salt Lake City.

If the end users like the product demo, Jim makes travel arrangements to the client head quarters in San Francisco for further discussion with management. The situation is similar in a warehouse. Often the result of an operation on inbound material Often the result of an operation on inbound material dictates the final storage location and subsequent routing. An example is a receipt of an item that requires inspection.

In this case the final storage location and routing depends on the result of the inspection operation. The requirement may bye putaway accepted material in storage, and putaway rejected material in a staging area for customer returns.

When you use Advanced Task Framework you can perform a mid-course correction of the final location and operation plan. Jim plans his travel carefully. However sometimes his travel plans go haywire. When it odes happen usually one of the following two things occur:.

Travel plans are aborted: This happens when an unplanned event such as weather forces the aircraft to be routed to a different location. Jim calls this exception an inexcusable exception. Jim works with the airline to make a new travel plan for the original destination.

Travel plans continue with exception: This happens when the airline reschedules Jim's flights or routes him to another airport in the same metropolitan area. Jim calls this exception an excusable exception. No replanning is needed. In a warehouse, similar exceptions may occur and Advanced Task Framework handles the situation in a similar fashion.

If an inexcusable exception occurs, Advanced Task Framework aborts the planned routing and replans the inbound movement for the destination location. A new operation plan is also assigned for the inbound movement. However in the case of an excusable exception, Advanced Task Framework retains the original plan for the inbound movement of material to the final storage location.

The processRequest method retrieves the destination and file part from the request, then calls the getFileName method to retrieve the file name from the file part. We'll see how this one performs internationally, and if it makes as much money as the fourth one, I'm sure Warner Brothers will want to make another one". In January , a new installment was announced to be in development, from Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema. Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan will write the script, with the plot described as a "re-imagining" of the franchise. In March , the film, set in the same canon as the first five films, would focus on first responders, with series producer Craig Perry stating: "We're toying with having it take place in the world of first responders: EMTs, firemen, and police.

These people deal with death on the front lines every day and make choices that can cause people to live or die. We rely on their good judgment, expertise, and calm demeanor. So why not put those people in the nightmare situation where every choice can bring about life and death — but now for themselves?

We're thinking that world might be an interesting way into a Final Destination movie, and one which can also generate unique set pieces in a very credible way". The franchise has been praised for its innovative premise of the invisible abstract concept of Death killing people instead of a usual slasher killer , and the creativity of the films' death sequences.

Throughout , publishing company Black Flame released a series of Final Destination books which faithfully follow the premise of the films, with each involving a group of people who find themselves targeted by Death after surviving a catastrophe of some sort due to a character experiencing a precognitive vision.

Their first five novels all featured original stories, with the first novel, entitled Dead Reckoning , has punk rocker Jessica Golden saving herself and several others from the collapse of Club Kitty in Los Angeles , earning Death's ire. After the run of the original series of books Black Flame released novelizations of the first three films in January Taking place in New York the book has a homeless man named Jack Curtis saving policewoman Amy Tom from a maniac after having a vision of Amy's death; Amy's attacker is later revealed to be a serial killer who was meant to murder six other people representing the first five senses and a sixth who Death begins targeting as Jack and Amy rush to find and warn the intended victims.

A tenth novel, titled Wipeout and written by Alex Johnson, was planned, but cancelled; the book would have featured a pair of surfers and several others, after surviving a plane crash in Hawaii, being hunted by Death and the survivor of another disaster, an unstable soldier who had nearly died in an ambush in Afghanistan.

The premise of the story involves the survivor of a terrible accident and his friend Jim, who continually experiences images of other people's deaths, isolating himself from the rest of the world to escape the visions that torment him.

The miniseries was later released in a trade paperback collection, which included the Sacrifice comic as bonus content. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I will need to generate final destinations for new lists every now and then, so I’m looking for a quick reusable solution. Using formula’s for this is a pain. A script that loops through every row and finds the final destination should be better, but I’m not into scripting (although I might be able to tweak an existing solution).

I listened to this one once. It bored me to death. I know its chill out, but this is boring crap.

I wouldn't recommend this one. It's hed kandi. I actually first heard some songs off this Cd on an internet radio station. I had never heard of Hed Kandi and really was not all that much into electronic or 'chill' music. But, the music started growing on me so I ordered this album and have been listening to it a lot at work and in the evenings at home. I had never heard of the artists on this compilation before so all this music was refreshingly new to me.

Hearing this CD set got me to investigate some of the artists and many are very hard to find. Some are only found on compilations like this Hed Kandi CD set. I just wish Robina would release her song Darkstar on one of these CD's. Well, I am hooked on this kind of music. Now I have another musical style to add to my ever growing collection of Jazz, rock, Classical and now Chill.

I read that he has moved on to a new project called Fierce Angel. One person found this helpful. As Kandi fans know, anything produced by them is just naturally good. There are usually a few average tracks, a few good songs, and Always a couple stand-out, worth-the-price-alone songs that blow everything away. This album is no exception, however, compared to some of the other compilations in the Winter Chill series, this one doesn't come out on top. I'll start by raving about the incredible, absolutely birlliant tracks.

On disk one there's "Lullaby" "Breathe Me" and "Following". Other good ones on that disk include: "And I.. Disk Two isn't quite as good as disk one, but still produces the goods, such as "Burning Up" which is a really good song with male vocals and "Blame it on the Moon" which is glorious song with a kind of western flare. First goes to Winter Chill I'm a big fan of the Winter Chill series from Hed Kandi. This newest addition is a great compilation. I think they make the best chill compilations because it's filled with interesting songs that aren't heard on every other chill compilation.

Overall a great compilation worth checking out! VERY different from other Hed Kandi type albums - winter chill provides an eclectic mix of downbeat but involved songs. Some are very new Sugababes 'stronger' , while others have been around for nearly a decade Mazzy Star 'flowers in December' - but all strong tracks that together make a great soundtrack for what I think would be a fabulous movie.

You won't be let down if you appreciate those classic lounge breaks. Sultry and soulful with a hint of passion these tracks were well chosen. Great work hed kandi. One person found this helpful. A sweet sound to the ears. Another great addition to the Hed Kandi collection. Beat based, melodic, smooth vocal chillout.

I have many many chilled albums and this one is just too cool. It's deep and curiously dark at times in a wonderfully enticing way you just want more. Its the kind of collection that you can play over and over. Perfect for those cozy nights with your love or just on your own. You will be glad to have this soulful and spaced out collection of cool tracks.

Kick and back enjoy as I truly give it the thumbs up. These are well selected beats and melodies put together seemlessly for your ear pleasure. Didn't bargain for the dripped wax on the outer cover, but all part of the experience, fantastic tracks, warming to it Chill out to the 2cds after first putting on Winter Chill 2, dark nights and a warm drink what's not to like.

Buy with confidence A sweet sound to the ears. Another great addition to the Hed Kandi collection. Hed Kandi never fails to impress. This series is just fantastic and so well put together. Great for relaxing in any season or any occasion. Can't recommend enough and the tracks merge together perfectly. Being a person of extensive chillout taste and variety I have heard many great chilled tunes.

CD1 of this is kind of average. YES there some mellow and often moving vocal numbers but overall distinctly average. CD2 was much more my cup of tea. CD2 continues with a varied selection of classic modern chilled numbers which are memorable and original.

So, all in all, not bad but there are others in the 'Winter Chill' series that are far better. The first of an excellent series and one of the best. Fairly consistent throughout and some would argue a little more variety than a couple of the others. Still think the best at time of writing is No. Nice n' dark chillout from 45 Dip, Mr Scruff and Wiseguys.

Fave track is probably "Phased" on CD1 by Santessa - lovely melody. Music geeks and I'm one!

High On The Starway - Omega (5) - Skyrover (Vinyl, LP, Album)

There's some improvement for the rest of the minute compilation. Though not being an instrumental, brief 'Hostage 2' is emotionally strong in its melancholic approach. The 7-minute 'Morning Lights' is perhaps the highlight on this compilation. Tempo is relatively slow, and the move from the latter- day Leonard Cohen -like deep voice to the uplifting chorus functions pretty well. The beat sounds like being programmed. Some sax added too. The last track 'Your All Night Man' is proudly exactly what the title suggests.

Can't give more than two stars. Avoid, unless you want to expand your Omega collection and have a gap for the eighties stuff. Review by Progfan Prog Reviewer. The album is a compilation of Hungarian language songs prior to their first English language on the Bellaphon label in early Not sure if it is available on CD but if you are a vinyl junkie get this one.

You might love it or hate it but give it a few listens and find out what was rocking and rolling behind the iron Curtain when guys like Jean Le Carre and Len Deighton were writing cold war spy novels. Mid's was definitely the band's most incosistent period, the collection of different sounds resulted an uneven album, where apparently there was no particular direction.

Seeing this one as a collections of pieces, ''Nem tudom a neved'' is a pretty decent album with Benko now focusing on the sound of synthesizer for his keyboard parts. For example the title track is still grounded in a Hard Rock enviroment, but the sharp sound of synth flashing and the occasional entries on spacious moods adds some sort of diversity to this piece, while ''A buvesz'' has a certain Teutonic vibe akin to ELOY with its slow guitar moves.

The 3-min. Same goes for ''Huszadik szazadi varoslako'', which is less symphonic but equally progressive with the soft guitar lines, the odd synth lines and the harsichord meeting the poetic vocals and an emotional atmosphere. As close as it gets to the German scene, an amalgam of Teutonic-like sounds with spacious keyboards, hard guitars and underground symphonic overtones, held down by a few forgettable Hard Rock tunes.

The progressive tracks though are pretty enganging and the album is easily recommended. Review by LearsFool Prog Reviewer. Review by GruvanDahlman Prog Reviewer. I fully appreciate the fact I have a fellow fan there in Iran. I first heard Omega on a local radio station here in Buffalo in , and have been a fan since.

I love the special effects in Russian Winter, and the portrayal of a man of God in The Lost Prophet The latter being re-titled on the hungarian version due to censorship. Top notch production and musicianship is demonstrated throughout. As of this writing, the band is still together with a huge following according to a friend in Slovakia.

This one really jibed with what I was listening to in the mid and late '70s - progressive and art rock with an international flavor. I wouldn't necessarily characterize this as 'space rock' as it really possesses more rock muscle than many other space rock artists of the era like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk Jean-Michel Jarre and even Pink Floyd although tracks like 'Lost Prophet' with its synthesizer and David Gilmour-esque guitar would definitely fall under the space rock umbrella.

My favorite track 'Russian Winter' has a palpable Siberian quality to it with its howling wolves and blowing wind sound effects coupled with balalaika and nonverbal Russian vocal accompaniment and a measurable rock beat. I'm not one who freely dolls out 5-stars because 'I like' or even 'really like' a given record. This issue includes both Hungarian and English versions of each track. If you want to see if this band is for you, start with this album as it is considered by most fans as their best album.

It is hungarian rock band with summit of creativity reached in late 70's. This album is at some parts original. It begins and ends with Beethovens 9'th. In one song "Russian winter" the russian instrument balalaika is included. They also gave concerts in these countries and they were supported by Scorpions or Krokus. I'd say their music was very British hard or progressive rock then and fortunately, they are still active gigging all over Hungary and in some neighbouring countries.

Give it a try and play it loud! One person found this helpful. Try not to look at the photos and just enjoy the wonderful music. Report abuse. Remembering: Experiencing 9/11 - Twisted Sister - Double Live (DVD)

I had front row. Only bad thing was that it was Janick side so I had him acting goofy right in front of my face the whole show. Although, I did catch a wrist band which I sold on eBay and which paid for my ticket. Find More Posts by cdollaz. Originally Posted by Rypro Find More Posts by DaveWadding. Louis in One thing is for sure, if you go to see Sammy Hagar live, you are in for a good time. A Sammy Hagar show is more like a party with 20, fans. This DVD captures the party like atmosphere, with excellent sound and video coverage. Sammy Hagar immediately captivates everyone in his attendance, and his stage performance. I enjoyed this concert on DVD immensely. Wabo guitarist, Vic Johnson shows plenty of prowess on the six string, as does Sammy Hagar during this show.

As a whole this is a very good show, and one worth seeing on DVD. The concert lasts one hour and fifty minutes. He mentioned that when they were requested to Rocklahoma , they would only agree to do the show if they were the Headlining Act. The band got their wish! This disc gives you all of the videos that the band put out over the years, as well as the video, that MTV banned, Be Chrool to your Scuel.

This disc has one of the bands very early performances, the first in the UK , and well as several live performances, and great interviews. James as the new singer of Warrant. The CD, Born Again is a very solid effort by Warrant, and returns them to the sound that made the band famous. The video is unique in the fact that is has videos for every song off the CD, Born Again. The sound on the DVD is perfect, but the videos are a little repetitive and have somewhat amateurish video editing effects.

I did get quite a bit out of watching the behind the scene features on this disc. The band recorded a bunch of footage of the time when they were in the studio recording the tracks for this CD. I thought this part of the DVD was kind of interesting, but not everyone may share my opinion.

The reasonable cost may make this a DVD worth picking up. Diehard Warrant fans will want to own this. Other fans may not find this disc as appealing. For the fans attending the Rocklahoma music festival that may not have experienced, Jamie St. Bourbon County Line. They all write about their experiences. What they have experienced, someone else has experienced.

Straight away a connection is made. Queensryche connected with people on Mindcrime, because they had a good story accompanied by great music and melody. People always love a good story. That is why we read books and watch TV shows and movies.

Copycat artists fail. When Guns N Roses came out in , a million other artists came out with a similar look and sound.

Even bands that where around changed their styles to suit the GNR sound. I do and that is because I have all of their albums. Artists that sing songs written by committees, will have instant fame. There is no doubt about that. This is the corporatisation part of the music industry. The labels that control the charts want that to happen. The label business is all about making money today. The labels are not interested in building a career for their artist. The mainstream press will see these artists as champions.

People these days can see that there is no substance and integrity to what they are doing. Everyone that hangs around to be with the star of the moment will abandon them. Artists that write songs with the thought of being paid straight away will never achieve anything.

Creating music is never a dollar driven game. The below quote from DeGarmo sums it up. Guitar World — Nov This is around the time that Empire came out. They have been at it for nine years. Creating albums and touring. The fantasy put out there by the press, is that these artists are loaded.

However that is so far from the truth. The record labels are loaded. They make all the money from the sales of recorded music. That is why the RIAA is shaking down sharers and trying to get legislation passed to bring back the glory days. Real artists, that are in the game to create music, remain silent. They just go about their life, creating and building connections and trying to force another paradigm shift. DeGarmo sums up my point of view. The reason why the fans came to Queensryche is because they remained true to themselves as artists.

By doing that, they found other people fans that connected with them. We love a good old story. These days even reality TV shows have scriptwriters. So when a song tells a story, it is magic. When an album tells a story, it is priceless. Operation Mindcrime the album told a story. Empire had songs that told stories. Promised Land had songs that told stories and it had a theme of disconnection running through it. The band had lost their record deal, they had lost their touring spot with Diamond Head and they were broke.

Dee was at a desperate point in his life as well, married, with kids and living in a studio apartment. He was broke, he was desperate and in these times of self-doubt, he had the life experiences to create great material. He had the fire and the angst. My cousin Mega is a hard core Twisted Sister fan. He is the one that got me into the band.

He even has the TS logo tattooed on his shoulder. This was my first exposure to the band. The sound of the marching feet. It was perfect for the time. How can I put in words the trueness of this verse? It is not auto tuned like all the other crap released today. It has a certain life to it.

To me, it is like a back story to the main movies. I was always asked the question; what am I going to do with my life. My answer was always the same. It was the A to Z in making it in the Eighties gatekeeper world.

You had to rely on gatekeepers in order to get your music recorded and released. It was the prequel of what was to come. The calm before the storm. This is the period were the image of bands started to become bigger than the music. Tom Werman was on deck to produce.

He is also credited as a writer and arranger, however this has been disputed by Dee Snider. Tom Werman has even said in interviews that Dee could never deal with any credit given to anyone but him.

The band has also mentioned in interviews that they never liked the sound on Stay Hungry , however a stipulation from Tom Werman is that he always wants a member of the band in the control room during the mix, and an approval of the final mix by the band before the album was turned in to the label.

The clip featured actor Mark Metcalf, from the movie Animal House. If anyone has watched Animal House Metcalf plays the sadistic and military orientated Doug Neidermeyer. In Animal House, the Twisted Sister reference is for something else. A connection is made immediately with me.

Rising up against authority. Rising up against the unwritten creed of Live, Work, Die. Rising up against the life that our parents, our teachers, our employers want from us. While other bands sang songs about reaching for the sky and all your dreams would come true, Twisted Sister brought it all back to reality.

This is the street reality. The line is drawn, and we are saying, we are not going to take it anymore. Screw, reaching for the sky. All of that is fantasy rubbish. This is real. Making a stand right now. That is all we wanted to do.

Turn it up, kick back, have a drink or two or three, have a smoke and enjoy. All three clips had the same theme and story to tell. All three clips are brilliant.

All are produced by Tom Werman. The Price is seen as the first Dee Snider solo piece. There are many songs about life on the road, and this is just another to add to that list. It was written four months into that tour and by then Dee was getting homesick. He even wanted to re-record The Price with Widowmaker as he never believed that the song reached its full potential.

This is the part that no one tells you about. Life on the road, away from loved ones. This is the part where loneliness leads to addictions for many.

The people around you like your band mates are starting to get on your nerves. Are you prepared to pay the price? The best song on Stay Hungry by far. This song spoke to me. It connected on so many levels. Even in the metal and rock community, divisions existed.

If someone like Slayer, they hated Metallica lovers. I liked all things metal and rock, however depending with which crowd I was hanging with, I could have been seen as a black sheep.

In the end I am a music lover. To me music is greater than the image. What can I say, it had to be a Randy Rhoads song. Diary shows the monster that Randy was becoming. Diary Of A Madman is the perfect fusion of progressive metal, technical rock and sinister classical all rolled into one potent song. It made them relevant. However the real star on this album is the closer, Hallowed Be Thy Name. The definitive version is the live version featured on Live After Death The tempo is increased slightly and Nicko McBrain who replaced Clive Burr on the drums, gives the song the fury it needs.

The song is about the last moments of a prisoner before the execution. We are the young And young at heart The strong and the brave that are destined to start We are the change The world needs to see Look in our eyes and see our belief.

This is who we are This is what I am We have nowhere else to go Divided we will stand. The mighty Machine Fucken Head. It would have fit the lyrical message of the song to a tee. The only time we metal heads stand united as a metal show. Apart from that, we are in a elite class of the genres we like.

This record come out in The whole record is just great but if i have to say what track i like best i would say: If i could live forever, in the beginning, so cold the night, lords of chaos.

See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Clearly a stop gap release while the the band and particularly the record label tried to work out what to do next.

Despite the shoddy album sleeve surely a live shot would have been better and daft album title, this is a really good disc. It was a brave decision to have 6 of the original 8 tracks featured coming from the poorly selling Magnum 2 album.

The tracks, despite the basic sparse production,of its time, sound great, tougher live than in the studio,no real standouts ,they're all great. The bonus tracks are pretty good to,the original E. P was an excellent choice as the 2 best tracks on the remastered disc are on there, namely 'All Of My Life and 'Kingdom of Madness' Interesting that its 'live' at times you can barely hear the crowd and it sounds like it could have been recorded at the soundcheck, plus the annoying fading of tracks kills the atmosphere, rendering it a series of live tracks rather than sounding like a complete concert, its a pity that it couldn't have been stretched to a double LP back in the day,it may just have broke them, made them stars.

Overall a pretty good if frustrating disc,IMHO,probably 3. Had this on vinyl originally and have now bought the Cd because the LP was damaged. The music is great, much better than the studio offering. However, the only thing that lets the album down is the gaps in the editing. While the band didn't have a lot of say in the comnpletion of the record, the record company should have made more effort to make it a continuous piece of work.

That said, I'm going to play it death still! Bought this when it first came out on cassette forgot about it just got it on cd I have missed it so raw. Report abuse. Had this on vinyl many years ago didn't realise how hard it was to get on cd. Great condition for 2nd hand and an amazing album. Bought for a die hard Magnum fan. Loves playing this super loud. The first vinyl Magnum album I ever bought back in ' The early Magnum will be of special interest to Prog fans and together with the studio debut Kingdom Of Madness, the present disc is probably the most progressive Magnum disc there is.

This does not mean the best though, but interesting it is, especially from the perspective of knowing what they later became. The tracks from Kingdom Of Madness performed here In The Beginning and Lords Of Chaos are two of the best, but ironically the title track is not featured but it is included among the bonus tracks on the re-released version.

This, that they chose not to include Kingdom Of Madness, is somewhat weird as that is the only really old song that the band still performs live today and it is featured on countless live albums of much more recent vintage. Musically, what you get here will not shock anyone who has heard the band's first couple of albums, but if all you know from Magnum is On A Storyteller's Night and subsequent albums, Marauder might surprise you.

But if you are looking for a career-spanning live album, you obviously should not go for this one. I was amazed when I discovered this gem remained un-rated. Sadly, due You must be a forum member to post a review, please register here if you are not.
